Namaste~
May and June are looking bright and abundant with workshops, new classes and times. Each week we have new students grace our space and those who have been with us since we began still so present and supportive. We welcome each and everyone with the same endless enthusiasm. Its all Yoga, yet everyday its all new again.
We have created a new Summer schedule that will begin June 7th. Some class times have changed and some new formats added. We aim to inspire.
So come and enjoy with us as we share this path like my little friend in this photo. This sweet butterfly rode my toe for several steps. I had to walk lightly and be mindful of his presence as he shared journey with me for those moments. It was a beautiful reminder to me of the Yoga we live off the mat, as important as on.
Peace, Light and Love-
Michele and Daniel

| Seva Spotlight on - Raven Bassett |
Over 25 years ago, 21 years professionally. I had first considered being a fine artist. Then a close friend noticed how I applied my art to personal beauty. I soon realized that I had a natural talent for hair and make-up.It pulls together so many different elements of art, style, shape and color, I felt I could keep learning and never stop. With that in mind, I decided to make it my profession. I am blessed to have had some terrific mentors early on, people who helped me shape an approach to my career |

The people who choose to sit in my chair! I see so much beauty everyday, in the faces and hearts of all our clients. It is a joy, choosing colors, cuts and textures to compliment someones natural beauty.
I love being able to broaden someone's vision of what beauty is. I want people to see themselves at least as beautiful as I see them. (And I know some truly LOVELY folks.) Our individuality is no longer a liability, it's part of what we celebrate.
I am honored to be able to bring about change in a client, perhaps just a shift in perception and have them see themselves in a whole new light.
We still have one chair open and available to rent. Contact Daniel or Michele at 616-458-2541
for more information on this opportunity. |

I first came to yoga in the age of "peace, love, and rock and roll". What drew me was the peace and love, however it didn't hold me. In the 80's I fell into the leg warmers , headband, and no pain no gain but I found there was pain. I exercised to loud music and hopped and jumped my way to several injuries. I quit and began walking, but what drew me back to yoga was what brought me there in the first place. To make peace and acceptance for an aging body and to love myself enough to push, but not to injure my body. It is that idea of honoring my body that holds me to yoga. I love feeling and with that the feeling of vitality.

My favorite asana is perhaps the back bend. Not that I have perfected backbending or that I find it easy, but just because I just recently let go of the fear to be able to try it again. That was a eureka moment for me. I had not tried to do one in many years and when we would get to that point in many classes, I just automatically told myself I couldn't and so I didn't. But I tried and found I can!

Give up bottled water. According to the Sierra Club, 1.5 million barrels of oil are used to make plastic water bottles every year in the United States. So try a PVC-free stainless steel water bottle and refill it regularly. |
