Student Spotlight: April 2008 - Ginny Post

What brought you to yoga?
I first came to yoga during my recovery from cancer.  The chemotherapy and surgery I underwent took its toll on my body, and I was battling fatigue, stiffness and soreness pretty much everywhere.  My hope was I could get some relief.
What benefits have you experienced from your practice?
After practicing yoga at Seva for a few short weeks, I began to feel my joints loosen up.  I was amazed at how quickly I began to feel human again, and felt very encouraged.  Mimi, Michele and Daniel were very helpful after I explained my limitations to them, and they all gave me modifications to use when a pose was too much for me.
Ginny Post
What is your favorite asana and why?
There are so many poses that I benefit from, but I do enjoy the lunge.  I have the most strength in my legs, and I find the pose very liberating.
