Seva Project, June – Take Them a Meal

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

This month, we’re asking Seva students and teachers to offer a helping hand by delivering a meal to friends of the Seva family. Tim and Gina Gort are great people and would be an admirable family under any circumstances. In fact, Tim and Gina are amazing parents who exemplify the meaning of persistence, teamwork ,and above all, love. Tim and Gina have met their share of challenges lately, namely the devastating news that their newborn daughter, Eliza, is suffering from brain damage. Tim and Gina’s first daughter, Gwen, was born with cerebral palsy. As you can imagine, the news of Eliza’s diagnosis is all too familiar.

As Tim and Gina adjust to their new lifestyle, we’re asking for your help to allow this family to rest a little more comfortably.
Will you consider delivering a meal to this amazing family??? If you can help please sign up at www.takethemameal.com. If asked, you’ll need to enter ‘Gort’ and password ’5367′
All pertinent information is on this website (address, dates etc..). However, if you have any questions please contact Amber Kilpatrick at azkilpatrick@gmail.com

You can follow the Gort family’s story at

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Greetings animal lovers!!! In February, volunteers from Seva gave their time and had a lot of fun caring for our feline friends at the Humane Society of Kent County. For April’s Seva project we’re giving more love to the animals at HSKC! All month long we’ll be collecting pet food donations at Seva. Please consider donating dry food for dogs, cats, rabbits and hamsters.

Woof, Meow, Shanti!
